DISNEY WORLD MEME
20/1/14 23:43Yeah, I was totally going to post a legit post.
But then I saw this meme.
Go, ride some rides with Loki. Go listen to him snark at the Norway pavilion in EPCOT. Eat lots of delicious food. Have photo ops with Disney princesses.
Possibly prevent him from joining in on the parades, Ferris Bueller style.
Or join in, whichever.

Returning from Egypt, Heru hardly bothered to change his clothing as he pushed into his home in the Upper West Side. The beauty about living to high and isolated even in the city was no mortal was about to notice his sudden comings and goings, or the clothing he chose to wear.. It made him feel less...sullied by them. Even if he had reason enough, from his childhood, to be thankful to mortal men and women.
Making his way to the kitchen he found a bottle of wine and opened it in a lazy manner, pouring himself a glass. The light fabric of his shendyt was smooth against his skin and felt leagues more comfortable than the heavy, restrictive clothing of the mortal world. How Set put up with it daily he'd never understand.
He moved through the penthouse with a calm as he started pulling jewelry off and dropping them casually on tables. It was only when he'd stopped to look at the smudge of kohl on his left eye, the dim paleness staring back at him, did he notice something (or rather someone) that was out of place.
"Your presence is unexpected..."

Thalia loved all of her little charges without a doubt, the ones that stretched from Tokyo to London to New York City, but there was a soft spot in her heart for Hollywood. Maybe it was the energy of the place, she thought. Or maybe it was the fact that it was one of the only places in the northern hemisphere where she could rent herself a shiny red Corvette and drive down Rodeo Drive with the top down and a pair of sunglasses perched on her nose.
In January.
She wasn't driving at the moment. The car was parked on the side of the street and Thalia was parked on the hood with her sunglasses perched on her head and a wild grin on her face. The kind of grin that bespoke trouble for someone, undoubtedly.
Or maybe - possibly - for everyone.

[ota] a winter's afternoon
1/1/14 16:10Spending time in the sun on the ship is fun and all but Nike's always rather more enjoyed watching the mortals than watching the hijinks the various gods get up to.
Which is what has her sitting beside a skating rink one afternoon in Central Park, observing people skating around the ring. It's crowded, but not so crowded she can't pick out those who treat this as a sport and not just something to pass the time one afternoon. It's those she watches with particular interest before she straps on skates of her own and joins the throng, though she avoids simply skating in a large circle and instead moves in graceful arcs and curves through the crowd.
It's not quite skating on the Thames in the 1700s, but it's not so bad either.

Between he and Clarissa, Set had long since managed to conduct most of his business from the comfort of his penthouse in Tribeca - the days were long past, after all, when he'd actually have to go to the exchanges - but on rare occasion he had to take a meeting away from his downtown base. Occasionally he even had to go uptown, gliding up Sixth Avenue in the relative quiet of his chauffeured car so he could charm some lawyer (it was almost always a lawyer) out of their objections.
And sometimes, afterwards, it was good to breathe in the air.
His walk was brisk enough to fit in with the pace of the New Yorkers around him, but not so brisk that he didn't notice the familiar figure sitting on the bench outside Central Park. There was more than a little temptation to just keep going, but old habits died hard, and Set pivoted on his heel.
"Not your usual milieu, is it?"

The best thing about hammocks, really, was how they allowed one to stretch out in the warm morning sun. And it tended to minimize the sway one felt on a ship at sea coming from the waves. All in all quite comfortable really, particularly for someone with a rather feline nature. The hammock he'd had brought specially on board was a bit of a joke along with being comfortable. No point in having something that only accomplished one task, anyway.
Around him, the ship is waking up...though really it never entirely goes to sleep. ( There's too many of them from too many different places... )
Which brings us back to Loki, who didn't particularly care what people thought about the ship's origin. Only that his nap in the warm morning sun not get disturbed before, oh, about noon or so.

Wanna play?
30/12/13 19:45So you've decided to give it a shot, eh?
All you've got to do is drop a comment below saying which deity you're going to play, what their account is, what pantheon they're from, and what PB you want to use. Then go forth and click the join button.
Ideally it'd be nice if you'd give a short synopsis of your deity on their journal somewhere.
